Asphalt Overlay Process
Before an Asphalt Overlay can be performed, the existing asphalt surface must be carefully inspected and evaluated to determine if a stable layer of underlying pavement or subgrade exists. Once the existing asphalt has been inspected, Asphalt Milling is performed on the surface using heavy equipment to mill the surface to the appropriate depth, remove defective areas, and reach the stable sublayer. After the surface is milled and the sublayer has the proper, even height with the proper drainage, a new layer of asphalt is paved over the stable sublayer.
